Supporting the capacity, involvement and leadership of local foundations to advance the nursing profession in their own communities.
Partners Investing in Nursing’s Future (PIN) is a collaboration between Northwest Health Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to support the capacity, involvement and leadership of local foundations to advance the nursing profession in their own communities.
In communities around the country, the nursing shortage has become so severe that it threatens patient care, affordability and safety.
Nurses are the largest component of the health care workforce, and their vigilance is critical to keeping patients safe and healthy. When people are most vulnerable, nurses are the health care providers they are most likely to encounter, spend the greatest amount of time with, and depend on for their recovery. The stability and quality of our system relies on a sufficient supply of appropriately educated and skilled nurses, but our nation is threatened with an increasing shortage of experienced nurses.
PIN is a unique collaboration of the philanthropic community to foster innovations that help address the nursing crisis.
