Renée began her employment at NWHF in 2005. In her role as PIN Program Officer, Renée ensures effective implementation of the Partners Investing in Nursing’s Future (PIN) program, a ten-year national initiative in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). PIN supports the capacity, involvement and leadership of local foundations to advance the nursing profession in their own communities.

Renée’s responsibilities include managing relationships with RWJF colleagues, consultants, and PIN partners from 61 project sites. She supports the national network of PIN partners by providing technical assistance and grants management, as well as facilitating interactions between PIN partners that cultivate collaboration and encourage knowledge sharing and program success. Her relationship within PIN spans the program lifecycle from RFPs through final report dissemination of the national program.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Renée was the public relations liaison/risk manager for the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), a local nonprofit serving the needs of Portland’s refugee and immigrant populations. Her career at IRCO extended over ten years, providing opportunities to serve in various administrative roles from executive administrator to risk manager.

Renée earned a MBA in nonprofit management from Marylhurst University and a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing management from Oregon State University.

Renée enjoys working for a national program and traveling the country. As a native Oregonian, she takes pleasure in making her home in the Northwest and supporting her local community by volunteering for the Oregon Food Bank, Blanchett House and other nonprofit organizations.
