Jo Davis is an experienced leader who believes that lasting community impact requires both intentional systems and deep community trust. With an extensive career across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, she specializes in architecting solutions that break down barriers to opportunity. Her career is defined by a deep background in the financial sector, complemented by a strategic tenure in municipal government. Whether working within city bureaus or corporate finance, she has focused on transforming how institutions operate, designing inclusive frameworks that move capital and resources into the communities that need them most. Currently, Jo serves as the Deputy Director for the North Star Civic Foundation. In this executive capacity, she draws on her tri-sector fluency to foster civic trust and drive collaborative problem-solving. She is dedicated to advancing the foundation's mission—including its work through the Bull Run Center—by guiding highly inclusive strategy processes that unite diverse stakeholders to tackle Portland's most complex challenges.

After spending her early years between Phoenix, Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico, Jo’s family relocated to Portland, a city she has grown to deeply love and call home. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Women & Gender Studies from the University of Oregon. Throughout her career, Jo has lent her strategic guidance to a wide array of philanthropic, community advocacy, and economic justice organizations across the region. Jo’s commitment to economic inclusion extends directly into public policy; she helped shape state-level strategy on the Oregon Joint Task Force on Addressing Racial Disparities in Homeownership and has actively championed the Oregon Individual Development (IDA) Initiative.

Outside of board meetings and community events, Jo is likely spending time with her 10-year-old, working on yard projects, or grabbing a warm beverage at Coava.
