As Northwest Health Foundation’s Communications Manager, Laura uses the NWHF website, social media, email, printed materials and other means to elevate our partners' stories, priorities and accomplishments, as well as to communicate about the Foundation's work. She also coordinates communications support for our funded partners, assists her coworkers' preparations for presentations and gatherings, and strategizes about the best ways communications can be used to achieve NWHF's mission and vision.
Before arriving at NWHF in May 2014, Laura worked in Pension Consulting Alliance’s real estate department. Before that, she studied at Lewis & Clark College, graduating magna cum laude with a double major in East Asian studies and studio art in 2013. In 2015, Laura participated in Oregon Voice's Communications Academy and Neighborhood Partnerships' Advocates College.
Along with working 30 hours a week at NWHF, Laura freelances. She enjoys doing graphic design for the Women's Foundation of Oregon, as well as other creative and social justice-oriented organizations and individuals. Laura serves on One Oregon's communications committee and volunteers for Oregon Voice's New American Voters Project.
When she isn’t working, Laura likes to read, write, make art and paddle dragon boats and outrigger canoes. She's lived in five U.S. states and one Chinese province.
