Executive Support & Operations Manager
Stephenie joined the Foundation in September 2015 as the Executive Support & Operations Manager. In this role, she provides support for NWHF's President, coordinates the board of directors and committee meetings, and manages office operations and community spaces.
Before joining NWHF, Stephenie was the Step Up Program Coordinator at Roosevelt High School in North Portland. Over the course of the eight and a half years she worked with Step Up, she managed seven to twelve staff and up to 190 students each year. Step Up focuses on supporting Academic Priority students and eliminating the racial achievement gap. Stephenie helped to create and implement the Step Up to College program, which focused on reducing the number of barriers for first generation college-bound students to get into college, and to recieve financial aid.
Stephenie graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of science in psychology. During her first three years, she was a pre-med major and still has a passion for the health field. Over the years, she has been able to feed this passion by volunteering in various emergency rooms and in the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Springfield.
Outside of her work at NWHF, Stephenie, her mother and her sister own two Curves franchises. One is near their homes in North Portland and the other is in the Hollywood neighborhood. Their mission is to help create strong communities of women of all ages and ethnicities who support each other in being their best selves, one workout at a time. Stephenie is also a ZIN certified Zumba instructor and enjoys sharing her love of dance. In January of 2016, Stephenie welcomed her first child, Izabella, into the world. She is thankful to be able to bring Izzy into the office with her and to enjoy weekends with their close-knit family.
